On my approach those would be "Rect Modern" by Simon Dorn, any of the Ola Englund Ridck Package, "AXEFX2 Engl powerball" and "AXEFX2 Fryette D60" by MillA. tape your fingers and start tweaking!īut where to start best? - The maybe first and best way to start is to chose a "raw" profile. I will attach the link at the end.Īs the title says. : Every profile edited by me or used by me in this progress will be uploaded on my dropbox. I haven't really finished my Quest and I don't really know everything about the "Djent tone" so if you have any further tips, please share those in the comment section! Another thing I'd like to cover is "how to place my djent tone in a mix" since I guess most of you are producing music as I do. What I want to achieve is unveiling some methods you may have not known and give you some tips, tricks and inspiration. For those guys, please check the 2nd method. Most of you propably want a Misha Mansoor kinda tone. Which I really can't answer you because it changes from person to person. But what are we after by wanting the "perfect Djent tone"? This is a tough question, right?.

Of course I did not discover everything by my own so I'll be giving credit to the peeps who did and from whom I gained my inspiration.

This is a key difference and why I use mostly plugins for recording.Hey, in this thread I'll show you (hopefully) how to get to the perfect djent tone.

With a plugin, you can go back and change the tone/fx at any time since what is being recorded is just a dry signal. Once you record your take using a axe fx unit, it's got that tone baked in. You can change your tone even after you record it, using a plugin. Also, for the home recordist, plugins are just more practical imho. That being said, hardware units are expensive.

It does come down to preference at some point. Some folks swear that their tube amp sounds better than any plugin or hardware unit. Some people insist that their hardware unit sounds way better than any plugin. I don't think any of the current hardware units sound any better than a really good plugin with a good custom preset. Also, some people are just more comfortable using physical knobs and less comfortable using a plugin. Most people don't buy hardware units because they "sound better", mostly, people buy them to use for things that software plugins are not as handy for, such as playing live shows. Does it really sound much better that software virtual amps? Would it be better to save the money and buy a virtual amp on hardware like kempers or helix? Kemper for example is a hell of expensive. Here is my "soldano" preset based on my myasnikov soldano clone preamp. Presets and once you find a few that you like you can modify them.

The full version, even the cheapest full version, will let you import I don't think you can import presets on the demo,īut you can create your presets I think. Presets in my thread if you buy one of the versions of THU. I've found that building my own presets is the key. If you want a Mesa amp head, use the mesa and then you can even change the types of tubes in the amp and select your fave guitar cabinet and effects.

#Guitar rig 5 djent Patch#
The stock presets for most plugins don't thrill me so I'd say create your own patch based on gear that you like. But even without rig player, THU is still my fave as the tone options are limitless. The "Rig Player" is a killer part of THU that samples an entire guitar rig and replicates it's sound sort of the way a kemper creates a profile.
